Step 1: Turn off the dishwasher

Before attempting to clean your dishwasher filter, ensure that the machine is turned off.

Step 2: Remove the bottom rack & filter

Pull out the bottom rack to access the filter located at the bottom of the dishwasher. Depending on your model, the filter might have a knob, clip, or latch that needs to be released to remove it or just twists out. Once you have located it, carefully lift it out of the dishwasher. Be mindful of any food particles or debris that might fall out of the filter, and throw them away.

Step 3: Clean the filter

Using a soft brush, gently scrub the filter under running water to remove any remaining debris. Pay close attention to the corners and crevices of the filter, as these are the areas that are most likely to accumulate debris. For stubborn particles, use a toothbrush or a small brush to dislodge them. Thoroughly rinse to ensure all debris is removed.

Step 4: Reinstall the filter

Once you've rinsed the filter, replace it in the dishwasher, making sure it snaps securely into place.
